THE FOOD & SHOPS AT LAGUARDIA AIRPORT AND THE INTREPID MUSEUM JOIN FORCES TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL AVIATION DAY AUGUST 19
Queens, NY (August 15, 2009) —
The Food & Shops at LaGuardia Airport’s Central Terminal and The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum are partnering to celebrate National Aviation Day on August 19, 2009. The celebratory event will take place from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, at the Central Terminal’s Food & Shops Departures Level.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a free exhibit highlighting the history of the famed Intrepid aircraft carrier and participate in hands-on activities. An “Education Team” from the Intrepid Museum will invite kids and teens to participate in their “Art in Motion” program, where they will have an opportunity to color and paint mini model airplanes, as well as take part in other aviation-themed crafts. An Amelia Earhart character will also be on site to entertain visitors.
